You will be aware, the CWU has made strong representations to Government in our campaign to have approval of the increases in pensions, which the Union has secured for members in eir and An Post.
I attach the most recent correspondence received from Minister Chambers, while a positive step forward, provides no certainty of timeline for members in eir.
I also attach confirmation from An Post that they have since received approval from both Departments and they will be in touch shortly with a date for payment.
Regrettably, there is no progress to report in respect of superannuation on health grounds.
Separately, we will meet with Minister McConalogue next week in respect of the superannuation on ill health grounds, and also to discuss the cumbersome process and long delays of agreed increases in both companies.
I will update you with any further progress.
In addition, I would also like to thank all of those who attended the protest outside the Dáil or who made representations to their TDs. There is no doubt that this expedited the process.
