GSP 23-21 Collection & Delivery Christmas/Peak Arrangements 2021

24/November/2021

Description

I wish to advise you of the outcome of discussions in respect of this year’s Christmas/Peak arrangements.

The added difficulty this year in completing agreement primarily relates to the uncertainty of the volumes likely to be in place, together with the ongoing Covid difficulties. It is agreed that the volumes and consequentially the resources agreed for 2020 were exceptional. On this basis, it is agreed the benchmark should be the arrangements that applied in 2019.

In respect of weekend attendances, the following is also agreed:

  • Saturday 4th December 2021 – 4 hours (minimum attendance)
  • Saturday 11th December 2021 – 8.5 hours nationwide delivery
  • Saturday 18th December 2021 – 10 hours nationwide delivery

Branches should immediately engage with local management with a view to concluding agreement based on similar levels of overtime to that which applied in 2019. The benchmark resourcing will ensure core attendances and overtime levels can be agreed for members. Where warranted, the overtime levels can be augmented where volumes exceed the levels provided for.

The CWU Regional Officers are available to assist Branches in concluding local agreement.

In the event agreement is not possible, these should be documented by way of agreed minutes for referral to Headquarters and if necessary, the Monitoring Group.
