GSP 10-25 Reconfigured RM 2000 Benches

I write to confirm agreement with An Post in respect of reconfiguration of RM 2000 Benches, regarding the above matter which has been the subject of ongoing discussions and reviews.
At the outset I wish to express appreciation to the CWU representatives and in particular members in Arklow DSU, for participation and support with the trialling of the new style benches.
The agreed changes to reconfiguration of the RM2000 benches, arose in the context of the changing nature of mails business, transforming from a letter to parcel/logistics operation. The existing bench format were no longer fit for purpose most notably in offices where space is an issue.
The Company and the CWU have jointly visited and reviewed the operation in Arklow DSU where we saw the benefits of the additional space created by the reconfigurations.
It is recognised the space freed up by the new style benches will be particularly useful in many of our challenged DSU’s as we approach our peak trading period.
The agreement between An Post and the CWU commits to having discussions with local Branches prior to the introduction of the new benches to ensure a smooth roll out within the DSU, in the event of any issues arising in an office as part of the roll out these should be resolved using our agreed procedures utilising where necessary operation Managers and CWU Regional Officers.
The issues of publicity post and prep rates for peak and elections are the subject of separate discussions between the parties.
