Description
I wish to update you regarding a number of issues in Mails & Parcels as follows.
Christmas/ Peak
You will be aware from GS Circular, GSP 21-22 issued on the 25th November 2022, the Christmas arrangements were finalised with the assistance of the Monitoring Group. In issuing their determination, they outlined frustration at again being required to intervene late in the day to assist in concluding agreement. Consequently, they directed An Post management to conclude a review of the Christmas/Peak operations 2022 by the 31st January 2023. They will then follow up with a meeting of both parties in February to discuss the outcome of the review. The Monitoring Group’s intention is to have arrangements finalised no later than the 1st August 2023.
In preparation for the above engagement, Branches are invited to forward their views and observations, together with any supporting documentation in respect of how the arrangements operated in their area. These should be sent to Head Office no later than Thursday, 19th January 2023.
Test & Learn
You will also be aware from previous GS Circulars of the Unions participation and cooperation with the Test & Learn Exercise of the company’s enhanced route design model at three DSUs. The Union and Company will conduct a review of the exercise, commencing next week. On completion of the discussions, I will revert to you further.
