GSG 12-18 UPLIFT – People’s Housing Survey

My recent circular 11/18 called for support for the ‘Raise the Roof’ rally which is taking place on Wednesday, October 3rd, outside Leinster House. The rally is scheduled to run from 12.30 – 2.00pm.
As noted in that circular, I know that the time and location will not suit a lot of our members around the country who might want to show their support for this important issue, but there is another way for people to show support.
A group called UPLIFT have issued an online survey ‘The People’s Housing Survey’ which only takes a few minutes to complete and it can be accessed here https://action.uplift.ie/surveys/17 There will also be links available on the CWU website, Facebook and Twitter feeds.
UPLIFT is Ireland’s fastest growing multi-issue campaign organisation. It is a community of people who share progressive values and believe in people powered action.
This housing ‘crisis’ is not an accident – it’s been manufactured by government decisions and policies that put the needs of big shot vulture funds, developers, professional landlords and speculators before us, the people. All of us want to make housing the big issue of the next General Election. Therefore, I would urge you to take the time to complete the survey, which will help produce a report that can be used as part of the campaign on this vital issue.
