The National Executive Council wishes to invite applications for the position of National Officer of the Communications Workers’ Union (telecoms sector).
The Communications Workers’ Union (CWU) is a modern, professional and innovative trade union representing approximately 15,000 workers in Ireland’s rapidly evolving communications industry. The CWU’s mission is to promote, protect and serve the interests of its members employed nationwide in most of the country’s leading communications companies such as eir, An Post, Vodafone and KN Networks etc . The CWU wishes to invite applications for this highly challenging national position from talented and experienced practitioners of employee representation with particular emphasis on the telecom sector.
Working closely with the General Secretary of the CWU, the successful candidate will play a central role in formulating and implementing strategies for the Union. This work will include effective worker representation with employers, engagement with policy makers and promotion of the Union.
An individual with highly developed skills, a track record of achievement and credibility in the area of industrial relations, the successful candidate will be capable of demonstrating a deep appreciation and analysis of the challenges facing this modern Union and the industrial sector it represents.
The position will be open to members of the Communications Workers’ Union only.
Salary and benefits package will be commensurate with the appointment.
