GSE 08-22 Pay Increase and Annual Leave Update

03/August/2022

Description

Year two (2022-23) of the Joint Conciliation Council (JCC) pay agreement of 2% for 12 months is now implemented into members pay for the following groups:

  •   Graded staff
  • FLM/SOM
  • Former Apprentices (within Openeir)
  • Retail (shop) staff
  • Contact Centre support staff
  • ITPP (CIO and CTO only)
  • FOTS

There is a further 2% increase due in July next year.

As you are aware for most members, pay is made up of two main elements:

(i)    Pensionable pay

(ii)   Non-pensionable pay

Therefore, pensionable pay will increase by 2% and non-pensionable pay will also increase by 2%.

There is no increase in the Transition Payment as the increase is reflected in pensionable pay in line with the Pension Accord and pay agreement.

Allowances for the applicable staff in the nature of pay will also increase by 2%.

 Annual Leave

Following further discussion between the CWU and management, the following amended position on annual leave for 2022 has been agreed.

Staff may carry over a maximum of 5 days automatically to 2023. A further carry over of up to 5 days may be

requested but this will be by exception and will be required to be approved by relevant SMT.

60% of your contractual annual leave entitlement must be used before the 1st October in order to be eligible to carry over those days into 2023.

All leave must be taken, entered and approved in the system prior to September 30th. Future dated leave booked in the system for dates after September 30th will not be counted towards the 60% of annual leave that must be taken before October 1st.
