GSE 08-20 Update – Call Centre Pay Increase
10/July/2020
Description
As you might be aware the CWU has been in negotiations with eir senior management on the subject of pay for staff in the Centres.
Following some tough discussions, the CWU can confirm that the company has agreed to a 1 year pay deal of 2.7%, taking effect from the 01st July 2020 for those who have successfully passed their probation period.
Customer Care agents and Sales agents can earn an additional 20% and 30% respectively on top of their base pay. Taking this variable pay element of their total remuneration into account the following pay arrangements have been agreed:
Customer Care agents and Team Leads – All customer care agents and Team Leads who have successfully passed their probationary period will receive a 2.25% base pay increase with a commensurate increase of 0.45% in variable pay. This equates to a 2.7% increase in total remuneration, taking variable pay into account.
Sales agents and team leads – All Sales agents and Team Leads who have successfully passed their probationary period will receive a 2.08% base pay increase with a commensurate increase of 0.62% in variable pay. This equates to a 2.7% increase in total remuneration, taking variable pay into account.
Furthermore, members covered by this agreement will now be included in the overall strategy currently being developed for new ways of working, examining flexible working models for members in the centres where previously this would not have been the case.
Finally, and crucially, members covered by this agreement will now be included in overall collectively bargained pay discussions in the business going forward.
This is an important win for Call Centre staff and demonstrates the value of being a union member.
