Description
The Joint Conciliation Council (JCC) has agreed to extend the terms of JCC Report No. 631 to cover 2021 annual leave.
The details are included in the Agreed Report 631, but in summary, it requires staff to take 60% of their leave by 30th September 2021. In addition, up to 10 days leave can be carried over into 2022 if 60% of leave has been taken. The reason for this measure is to ensure staff can maintain and use their leave in these exceptional circumstances.
It is important that staff avail of their annual leave and have a fair opportunity to do so. Despite the continued circumstances we find ourselves in, the company have accepted the need to have up to 10 days carry forward leave on that basis.
These changes are temporary and have been agreed by CWU in the context of COVID 19, which continues to create a unique and unprecedented challenge around taking annual leave.
