GSP 09-26 An Post Pay Proposal 2026-2027
15/April/2026
Description
I am pleased to advise you of a Pay proposal outlined below for your consideration, which is the outcome of direct discussion with An Post.
Having carefully examined the proposal the National Executive Council (NEC) decided unanimously to recommend acceptance to you.
In recommending acceptance, the NEC recognising the impact the cost of living has on members, regards the terms of the Pay proposal to be the very best achievable, comparing favourably with pay settlements generally.
Pay
- 2% pay increase effective 1st January 2026
- 1% pay increase effective 1st July 2026
- 2% pay increase effective 1st January 2027
Voucher
- €650 Voucher pro rata for part-time staff
If accepted, within just over eight months, members will be in receipt of a 5% increase in pay.
Pension
Pensionable pay, as per the Pension Accord agreement, will increase by 2% this year, with a further 2% increase most likely to materialise in 2027. This will provide a further 4% increase in pensionable pay for members and, subject to ministerial approval, for our retired colleagues.
Change/Transformation
As has applied in previous agreements, the Union will continue to co-operate with normal ongoing change, together with the change programmes and associated timelines necessary to transform the business as agreed in the Transformation Agreement, which is extended until the end of 2027.
Similarly, as part of the proposal, if agreed, there will be no new cost-increasing claims progressed for 2026/2027.
In the event the proposal is rejected, the company will withdraw the offer, and the proposal will have no standing. This would then require referral to the WRC and/or Labour Court.
A copy of the agreement with An Post and the criteria to apply in respect of the voucher are attached.
Please return completed ballot papers in the preaddressed envelope to your Branch Secretary, or directly to the Unions Auditors, no later than 11am Tuesday the 5th May 2026.
