GSG 16-26 Membership Subscriptions

Description
The National Executive Council having reviewed the membership subscriptions, has decided to make changes to the contribution ceiling for scale A, B and C contributions.
Currently, the contribution rates provides for a 1% contribution of basic pay, which includes a 20% contribution to the Social Benefit Fund and €0.13c to Distress Fund and €0.13c to Charitable Fund or €0.13c to Distress Fund.

In arriving at their decision, the following were the main reasons for the change.
- This ceiling/cap is in place for over 20 years and a review is justified, taking into consideration inflation and pay increases.
- One base rate of €9.48 should apply to all Scale A, B and C members.
- The existing rate will continue to the 31st December 2026.
- The new rate will apply from the 1st January 2027 and thereafter linked to pay increases in Eir.
