Pensioners Turn Out in Huge Numbers to Demand Justice Outside Leinster House

Pensioners led a wave of anger and solidarity outside Leinster House yesterday as the CWU organised a massive protest against the government’s shameful delay in pension increases owed to more than 20,000 retired A Post and Eir workers.

Over three thousand people stood shoulder to shoulder in defence of pensioners who have worked their entire lives, paid their dues, and are now being forced to wait while the government drags its heels. These are not handouts — these are hard-earned entitlements. The strength of feeling on display left no doubt: our pensioners will not be ignored, and this injustice will not be tolerated.

This fight is far from over. The CWU will continue to ramp up the pressure and support our pensioners until they receive the increases they are rightfully owed.

To everyone who marched, stood firm, and made their voices heard — well done. Stay strong. Stay united. We will not back down.
