  • If you are an existing eir Vision customer and select the eir TV bundle on the application form, you will automatically be  moved from eir Vision to eir TV (Apple TV), eir’s new TV service and box.
  • If you wish to remain on eir Vision, do not select the eir TV option on the application form.
  • If you remain on eir Vision, the TV service will not be free. “Free eir TV” is for customers signing or moving onto eir TV (Apple TV) as per the offer terms and conditions.

Q1 How do I qualify for the offer?

A1 Only retired eir staff who are members of the CWU Retired Members’ Section may apply for the offer. Your CWU Retired Membership Number will be required to process your application. Applications will only be accepted within the time-frame (6th-19th September).

Q2 When can I apply for the offer?

A2 This is a one time, limited offer, available for two (2) weeks from September 6th to September 19th 2021.

Q8 Is the deal for life and what happens in the event of my death?

A8 The deal is for life or until the account is cancelled. In the event of a Retired Member’s death, the account name can be changed to a surviving family member who is resident at the same address.

Q9 I have no existing telephone service, can I avail of the offer?

A9 Yes

Q10 I have copper service into my home, is FTTH (Fibre to the Home) available to me as part of this offer?

A10 Yes, if it has been rolled-out in your location.

Q11 What are the payment options to avail of this offer?

A11 Payment is through Direct Debit only.

Q12 I am an existing eir customer, what happens with my current contract?

A12 Any existing customer contracts will be replaced by the new offer. Conditions of the new contract will then apply.

Q13 Will my Eircode determine FTTH availability?

A13 Yes

Q14 With FTTH can I opt for voice over broadband?

A14 All fibre orders now come with eir Broadband Talk (Voice Over Broadband) as the talk package as opposed to copper telephone line. Click here for information on Voice Over Broadband.

Q15 What is eir TV?

A15 With eir TV you get an Apple TV 4K Box that features the eir TV app which has 50 channels available. Enjoy the best of live TV with up to 100 channels like RTE, Virgin, BBC & more or upgrade to eir TV extra’s over 100 channels. Watch anywhere, anytime on your Apple TV box, phone or tablet.

Q17 Sky is not available but can the operator Sky add channels to eir TV?

A17  Yes, customers can download the NOW app on their Apple TV and register for NOW to get access to watch Sky channels, for more information click here

Q18 How long is Amazon Prime free?

A18 One (1) Year

Q19 I have a mobile with eir, how can I transfer to the SIM only offer?

A19 If you are an existing eir mobile customer on a handset plan and in contract, you cannot move onto the SIM only offer. However, if you are moving to eir or are out of contract on your current plan, simply apply for the offer through the online form.

Q20 What are the services offered?

A20 The services listed on the application are:

  • eir talk offpeak calls + eir fibre = unlimited off-peak local and national calls on landline + unlimited fibre broadband
  • eir talk anytime calls + eir fibre = unlimited anytime local and national calls on landline + unlimited fibre broadband
  • eir TV = eir TV service with Apple TV box
  • eir mobile connect SIMO = the sim only plan, unlimited calls, texts and data (up to 3  sim cards)

You should select all services you wish to avail of, as these cannot be added on at a later date.

Q21 I currently have eir Vision, what are my options?

A21 The following are the available options for existing eir Vision customers:

  • If you are an existing eir Vision customer and select the eir TV bundle on the application form, you will automatically be  moved from eir Vision to eir TV (Apple TV), eir’s new TV service and box.
  • If you wish to remain on eir Vision, do not select the eir TV option on the application form.

Q22 Is there an extra charge to get eir Apple TV in multiple rooms?

A22 There is a €10 per month per point (room) charge for eir Apple TV.
