Cost of Living Coalition – National Day of Action, June 18th

I wish to advise you that the Cost of Living Coalition – comprising a broad spectrum of unions (including ICTU), trades councils, NGOs, and political parties – is planning a number of rallies around Ireland on Saturday, 18th June 2022. The details of events scheduled to take place are as follows:

  • Dublin:            1.00pm at the Garden of Remembrance, Parnell Square
  • Cork:                2.00pm outside Brown Thomas on Patrick’s Street
  • Limerick:        2.00pm on Bedford Row
  • Galway:           2.00pm in Eyre Square
  • Sligo:                1.00pm at Sligo Town Hall

The key demands of the Cost of Living Coalition are:

  1. Control of energy costs
  2. Protect incomes
  3. Make housing affordable
  4. Invest in Public Services
  5. Share the wealth

This Union is acutely aware of the effects that the cost of living crisis is having on our members and we are committed to taking the necessary action to reduce the negative impact on our members and their families. Therefore, I would urge CWU members, if they are in a position to do so, to lend their support by attending a rally near to them on June 18th.

Ní neart go cur le chéile.
