Fighting Words: Call for Submissions – Stories from Frontline Workers and their Families

Fighting Words was founded in 2009 by Roddy Doyle, running free creative writing programmes across the island of Ireland. It also has a partnership with DCU, including working with student nurses there.

Fighting Words want to hear from those who have been keeping us in touch with one another during this time.

They currently have an open submission call for pieces of writing from frontline workers and their families. ‘That One Time’ is a project that draws together a collection of writing reflecting the experiences, thoughts and ideas of frontline workers and their families during this time. They would like to hear from those who have been keeping the country running over the last number of months, and share their important stories – and those of their family and children – on its website.

Writing submissions can be fiction or non-fiction and full details regarding submission of pieces is available here and in the attached document.

In gathering these stories together, Fighting Words hope to create a really powerful and significant collection of frontline voices, something that honours the work that has been done and continues to be done.
